Encore Career Institute, Inc. (“ECI”) owns and operates this Web site.  This Privacy Policy lets you know what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use, share and protect that information, and how you can update it.  It is effective on the date posted below and applies to use your information after that date.

In general you can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself.  We may collect and use certain information from our visitors for our general business use, for example, to help us administer our business, improve our services or adjust our site to meet our users’ needs and expectations. Some of this information is not personally identifiable, such as information collected automatically through cookies and other information is personally identifiable, such as information you provide when you register for any of our online services.

Site Use Information Collected Automatically

We may gather site usage information from any visitor to this site.  Our servers may track and collect information about your browser, domain name, IP address and the web pages you visit.  This information generally does not personally identify you.  It is aggregated to measure the number of visits, your use of the site, pages viewed, and so on.

Registration. If you choose to register on our site, you may be required to provide a piece of identifying information (a user name) and to select a password which will be used to access your information.  During the registration process we collect information (“Registration Information”) which may include your name, address, email address, educational background and a unique identifier, such as your social security number or student ID number.   Some of this information may be optional.  You agree that you will provide accurate and current information and will update that information as appropriate.

Purchases. If you choose to place an order for products or services from ECI we will require that you provide contact information and credit card information.  This will include the credit card number and expiration date, billing address and name on the account (“Credit Card Information”).  This Credit Card Information may be linked to your password and Registration Information and will be used to accomplish your purchase transaction.

Contacting us.  If you send us an email or request information we will retain your contact information and use it to respond to your inquiry.  We may also use your email and contact information for our general business purposes including providing you with upcoming events and other information about ECI and others.

Email promotions.  ECI may provide the opportunity to subscribe to a newsletter or other email subscriptions through our site.  If you choose to subscribe we will collect your email address to be used to send the promotional materials to you.  You may unsubscribe or change your email address for these promotions at any time by following the instructions in each email promotion.

Job Applications.  Students or graduates of our programs may be able to submit resumes or job applications through our site to us or to prospective employers.  Information collected through this process may include name, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, education history, military service, immigration status and employment history or other information.  This feature may be operated by a third party vendor who controls the use of the personal information; please read the applicable privacy policy if you use this feature.

Surveys. From time to time we may conduct online surveys to let site visitors or students provide feedback to us.  As part of this process we may ask for your name and contact information so that we can contact you as appropriate following the survey.  Participation in any survey is purely voluntary.

Because of the nature of our business, our products and services are not designed to appeal to minors, and therefore we do not knowingly attempt to solicit or receive any information from children under 18. If we have reason to believe that information is being provided by a person under the age of 18 we will not collect the information.

Your California Rights

  • Support of academic and curricular functions necessary to deliver educational services to students attending ECI, including, but not specifically limited to, processing of assignments, grades and other evaluations, course scheduling, enrollment counseling, academic counseling and, if applicable, financial aid counseling;
  • Marketing, promotions and research.

How To Access or Update Your Information

You may at any time update, correct, delete or make changes to your Registration Information or Credit Card Information by contacting us at 1-408-357-7200. We will require you to provide information so that we may verify your identity.  You may direct us to delete your email address from our mailing list by following the instructions on any email you receive.  We will act on your instructions promptly, but it may take up to two weeks for the change to become effective.  We will honor any requests for us to provide or change information when your log-on information and password are provided, so please protect this information.

Our Security Measures

We security measures in place for this site to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We utilize SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption when accepting your credit card information during the online ordering process. Please be aware that any information you send by email is not encrypted and is susceptible to interception over the internet.

While we take steps to protect your personal information, you also play a role in protecting your information.
